Sticky mats consist of stacked polyethylene (PE) film layers treated to be gas-tight and highly adhesive. They are designed to remove dust and dirt from shoes and wheels in cleanrooms and controlled environments.
One side of the film features a special pressure-sensitive adhesive; as personnel walk or carts roll over the mat, it captures any contaminants adhering to shoe soles or wheels.
When a layer becomes saturated with contaminants, it is simply peeled off to reveal a fresh layer underneath, eliminating the need for cleaning or washing. The mats are non-slip, non-contaminating, and resistant to damage from footwear or wheels.
Contaminants are removed upon contact.
A fresh layer is accessed by simply peeling off the top sheet; no mopping or washing is required.
They can be used independently or with a frame.
The bottom layer adheres securely to the floor but is easily removed without leaving residue.
Each layer is uniform in size, ensuring no gaps or defects that could lead to contamination.
Corner tabs indicate the number of remaining layers, making it convenient to peel off used, contaminated sheets.
While rarely seen in daily life, sticky mats are common consumables in factory cleanrooms, effectively preventing contaminants and particulates......from entering strictly controlled work environments via foot traffic, thereby maintaining cleanroom hygiene.
Typically placed at cleanroom entrances or transition zones, sticky mats effectively capture dust from shoe soles and the bottoms of material handling containers. They are manufactured using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and a water-soluble adhesive through a special process, with each layer featuring a high-tack coating. The polyethylene material is non-toxic, odorless, and offers excellent low-temperature and chemical resistance.
