Before installation, ensure the floor surface is clean, dry, and smooth. First, peel off the protective film from the opening on the back, then lay the mat flat onto the clean, dry floor at the entrance; press the mat firmly against the ground using the soles of your shoes. Finally, peel off the protective film from the opening on the front side, and the mat is ready for use. The sticky mat can be used on its own or secured in place using a dedicated frame. (If the surface of the adhesive sheet becomes saturated with dust during use, simply peel off that layer to expose the next clean sheet underneath.) As you can see, the layers removed in the first and third steps are transparent; these are the protective films.
The protective film serves to keep the sticky mat clean prior to use. In addition to the protective film, each sheet is typically marked with a sequential number (e.g., 1, 2, 3...) in the corner, making it easy to track the number of remaining layers and know when to replace a sheet that has become covered in contaminants.
